VIDEO MAKING - CONSULTANCY
LAWYERS' ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION TEAM (LEAT)
EMPOWERING FOSSIL - FREE ADVOCATES FOR SUSTAINABLE ENERGY FUTURES.
VIDEO MAKING - CONSULTANCY ANNOUNCEMENT.
The Lawyers' Environmental Action Team (LEAT) is a 30-year-old Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) working to protect natural resources and the environment in Tanzania. Established 3 decades ago, the LEAT has over the years worked with environment stakeholders to address environmental injustices faced by both urban and rural communities. LEATs protection of natural resources have revolved around the protection of water sources, land, forests, wildlife and the general environment using laws that guide the access, use and control of natural and environmental resources.
Despite being in the field for 30 years, LEAT's commitment to protect communities is ever-growing following a range of environmental challenges and dynamics in Tanzania. On this note, LEAT through its empowering fossil-free advocates for sustainable energy futures project invites applications from qualified individuals and or companies to produce a nine-minutes video clip detailing the violations from the growing coal operations in Ruvuma region, Tanzania.
The video will capture evidences of environmental degradation and community complaints from Songea Municipal Council (MC), Songea District Council (DC) and Mbinga DC on coal activities happening in the region and its shortcomings.
The goal of the video is to report on the key issues arising from various activities related to the extraction, processing, transportation, and sale of coal. This video will provide visual evidence for authorities, reminding them of how coal mining harms people, particularly those living near the mining sites, while the government continues to benefit financially from these operations. Therefore, LEAT is seeking a skilled and experienced videographer to document these operations.

Time Frame
The duration of the Assignment is expected to take 10 days working days from the date of signing the contract.
